This is the place to shave off that long white beard and stop being philosophical; a forum for members to just talk like normal human beings.

And I made a splash in 2012 as bfekete in 2012 for which I was severely reprimanded and as soon as that happened morphed into orb. then I was whipped into changing that into orby and that proving tacky Meno.

ILP needs new blood, but I won't hold my breath.

We need a young, thirsty, high-testosterone male genius with a ruthless desire to Learn and Explore existence.

To share the weight and burden of Wisdom.

People making money, off of Instagram and TikTok etc., not off here.

The type of males that urwrong alludes to, posts on those sites.. a place like this isn’t probably even on their, or anyones, radar.

Because I majored in philosophy and set my sights not on worldly things, but things not of this world. Money to me meant work to get a roof over our heads and food for us.

Wanted to go on with it but got bogged down with wife and kids , and had to give it up. Then my dream of continuing my dream , I had to go to libraries before there was internet access but never giving up my dream

Sometimes wonder the silly image of being a philosopher to get me going and that was picturing myself in sandals walking around and just being wherever life took me as an existential hermit. I guess that image still is with me but modified , since having a family.

But certainly one needs a post graduate degree to get a job as a real philosopher, and I just didn't have time or money for it.

I loved hearing about that. I was being facetious. Back in the early days there was someone who said the quote that I said (to which you just responded) more than once. I don’t remember why. :)

I’ve never seen the value in money or physical possessions, but that’s just my natural bent, not some kind of virtue or value.
