Upgrade. 9/10

I really liked this movie, although I don’t know if I agree with the director’s take on the self-aware AI’s intentions. In fact, the more I think about it the more I become doubtful that a truly self aware AI may even be possible, in the first place.
But the ending is well-done.

Il Primo Re (2019)

This movie is on my list to watch this year. It’s the story of Romulus and Remus. The director tried to recreate historical atmosphere, including the spoken language at the time. One of the critiques so far is that it is a little hollywoodish, but we’ll see just how much. I’m also looking forward to comments on the accuracy of historical recreations (the details).

Sami Blood. 7/10

It’s a good movie, though I wish the director filled in the gap in main character’s biographical timeline, at least briefly (for continuity’s sake): how she found work, how she met her husband, etc.

Mandy. 2/10

This movie left a bad aftertaste in my mind. It’s like eating a moldy piece of bread, or spoiled piece of food you just want to spit out. The atmosphere of this movie is claustrophobic, heavy and very dark and mythical, which contributes to its nauseating effect. Everybody in this movie is either mentally disturbed or high on drugs (usually both). Now, imagine what would happen if you have this combination- well, that’s exactly the kind of things happen in this movie. Enter the dark mythical world of the mentally disturbed, on drugs. You’ve been warned.

Btw, Panos (director) has admitted himself that he used many different drugs during high school and has lost a friend to heroin overdose in school. So, this could potentially be seen as anti-drug movie. It is also been said (and confirmed by director) that this movie is very much about the male ego.
...A weak or broken male ego...I can see that.

2.0125/10

Fallen(first movie in trilogy, then Fallen:The Journey and Fallen:The Destiny)
Only watched this trilogy since I am curious about the Books of Enoch. Fairly cheesy though.

Got to rate it a B movie but it did have a decent budget.

Think it might be worthwhile to narrow it down to a genre.
This is as difficult as post your Best song ever.

Apocalypse Now, or Jacob's Ladder would be my best War Film.
Blade Runner, or 2001 a Space Odyssey would be my favorite Sci-fi films.
Seven or Silence of the Lambs for Horror/Crime.
28 Days Later for the best Apocalypse film
Spartucus for the best Sand and Sandal Epic.

Best period Drama goes to Barry Lyndon.. This film is like watching a series of Constable and Gainsborough paintings come to life, it is beautiful. Stanley Kubrick was a genius. And whilst I mention him....

Dr. Strangelove (of how i stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb) is the best Black Comedy.
Ichthus77 loves himself

Dunkirk

That was an outstanding movie.
BE MELTING SNOW. WASH YOURSELF OF YOURSELF.

YOU WANDER FROM ROOM TO ROOM
HUNTING FOR THE DIAMOND NECKLACE
THAT IS ALREADY AROUND YOUR NECK!

DANCE UNTIL YOU SHATTER YOURSELF!

THERE IS A VOICE THAT DOESN'T USE WORDS. LISTEN!

LIFE IS A BALANCE BETWEEN HOLDING ON AND LETTING GO!

LET SILENCE TAKE YOU TO THE CORE OF LIFE!
