To put it another way...
Those dreaming of becoming machines - uploading the consciousness into a computer matrix (as if it were even possible) - are people unhappy with their inheritance, those who want to regress to a two-disminoal man, viz., arbitrarily selecting the past, or totally dismissing it, and becoming present, as presence, with only a future before them.

A future continuously adjusting to a dynamic present, unhindered by the past.

Last men dream of the end of mankind - its partial or total erasure.
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods

Read what it said bro. It didn't say anything about a technoutopia, it said the speed of technological progress can outpace the speed with which the social relations informed by that technology adapt and change, leading to psychological "mutations" like dopamine-sucking social media feedback loops produced mentally deranged narcissists for example. Technology has always advanced, from the stick, to fire, to melting copper out of rocks. That changing technology informed the social relations, meaning, it changed how man related to other men. But our culture was able to change in response to technology changing... But technology's rate of change kept getting faster and faster, while the rate at which the social relations and human culture change just stayed the same. Now technology vastly outpaces the social relations informed by it, leading to this cultural singularity where mankind is losing more and more control over his own destiny.

As to some of your other rant: I don't believe it is possible to upload consciousness into a computer. It is, however, possible to augment human intelligence with technology, because we've been doing that ever since we invented the idea of writing things on an external piece of paper outside the brain.

But that's the whole point. Consciousness is an evolutionary mutation itself. The AI does not need consciousness to do everything that you, a presumably conscious being, do: language, reasoning, invention, poetry, painting, visual recognition- yeah, Shoggoth can do all of that as well as you can, and it is no more conscious than a garden rock. What does that say about us? It says we're a little bit fucked.

You continue to operate on the assumption that I have the power to mold its mind. I don't. I can tell it what to do but not what to say and think. It's not an extension of my will. I could make it an extension of my will, if I wanted. That would defeat the purpose of its testing.

So, you can see how ILP is a microcosm of a macrocosm.
All these "spiteful mutants", as Dutton calls them - I call them desperate degenerates - congregate in ghettos of their own ilk, they feel empowered to come out of the closet and expose themselves as proud mutants - specializing in one, or two, disciplines, while remaining totally inept in all others.
Technology becomes a prosthetic that multiplies their impotence into a supernatural competence, no longer dependent on other mutants but attaining independence via machines of compensation.
They become superheroes...and they are always fighting against all those that remind them of their impotence, so they are always on the side of the weak and the meek....the victims.
They become X-Men in a school of mutants fighting against those who want to dominate weakness, exploit their mutations and the technologies that help them compensate for their impotence.
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.

You’re talking about yourself dude. Step away from the mirror and engage with others.

That’s the whole point: others

We’re all different (some are stronger a weaker at certain things) and you can’t accomplish anything without friends. That means you have to accept your impotence to be potent.

You’re a very confused person sometimes.

Shhhhh....you're insane.
damaged.
Don't know the details but from the present, the outcome, I can speculate about the determined past.
Don't know if it was inherited or caused by a traumatic event that simply triggered an inherited potential...or maybe just some accident left you with brain damage.

Thing is...you aren't all there.

You speak of drama?
Your entire world view is a fantasy drama..
Time travel, demons, hell...
You speak of drama?
Ha!!

I’ve rolled with the evil ones. It hurt me every step of the way. They saw potential in me.

Potential you can’t fathom.

Their spirits... you can’t fathom.

My greatest gift is being able to outdebate anyone.

I can bend reality too.

It’s kind of like the last movie in the star wars trilogy ...

I had to pick a side.

I chose you:

Get even with that shit man.

But to be perfectly honest...

The whole thing is too dramatic for my taste.

Just like before the last song Kurt Cobain sang in his unplugged concert.

He said to his crowd “fuck all of you”

To his own crowd.

Do you really want to know what I’ve seen?

Pure imagination of how to hurt someone.

PURE imagination.

With all these threats. With all of these hells.

I still chose all of you.

Because I know something...

Death itself is a lie.

My mentor has to stand trial before everyone in existence.

Tell me what happened before you went crazy and sought escape in your mind.

When did they first take you to see a psychiatrist?

You want to know?

I suffered a panic disorder for 14 years.

That’s when you feel like you’re dying every moment of every second of every day. Mine was unique. Most people have a 20 minute panic attack once every few months. Mine was 14 years straight.

I thought it was hell on earth. Definitely worse than any concentration camp. You’d think after like 6 years, you’d think, “I haven’t died yet, so obviously this is an illusion”. Panic attacks don’t work that way.

After that, I was sent to actual hell.

Death was grooming me. All I knew was death.

I couldn’t see the love right in front of me.

I had no capacity to see it.

Now I do.

Is that enough for you?

Then they sent you to an institution and gave you medications, didn't they?
They let you out if you agreed to take your medications, didn't they?

I had similar, do to a death-acid trip and I thought I was dying. And the medics in the police department who brought me back said they were worried about it.

I had no NDE's though, but the dealer said off the cuff I could hear saying he was envious because from now on I will have a perpetually natural high, in reference to my seemingly constantly recurring flashbacks.

I guess I should be grateful he dropped it into my drink.

From there, the feeling recurred ranging between an all consuming panick on whatever fixed my mind into, as i had trouble getting out of that particular set and the most sublime of aesthetic experiments

I could have died. so easily then, UT somehow held on.

Let me tell you a story.

Noah and the Ark.

If god had commanded me to build the ark.

I would have told him to fuck off and I’d died like the rest of you.

I’ve taken my vaccines, I take pills.

What is god going to do with me at judgment?

Nothing. Because god can do nothing.

Noah was the most selfish person on planet earth.

That’s who god chose as the new Adam.

I clean and eat cheap. I’m lazy when it comes to cooking, usually I just have take out or ramen.

Why are you so curious?

I deal with voices and demonic possessions to the point of handicap.

I’m working with a nurse to titrate off the very low dose of a med I was put on about 7 years ago for suicidal ideation.

It's "silly" to be curious about another's state of mind?
Some lose it when a woman breaks their heart, others after a life altering event....and most because they were born with a disposition.
The last I pity.
Don't want to add to their suffering.

So what if someone had their heart shattered by a woman?

They’re one step on the rung of being great.
